Acer Smartphones Gaining Mojo in Southeast Asia
September 05, 2014

Acer expects to ship around five million smartphones this year and aims to double the shipments in 2015 as the company is making strong presence in Thailand and Malaysia, reported Economic Daily News on September 5. Instead of selling through open market channels, the company has been cooperating with local telecom operators and successfully making inroads into 31 markets, including Myanmar and the Philippines. Acer will focus on improving its smartphone penetration in mid-range and value-line segments by launching a wide range of smartphones priced below US$50, said the report.
